Why Work With Jillian?
Hi I'm Happy You are Here!
My name is Jillian Nickelson and I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor from St. Louis. My passion lies in finding meaningful ways to improve the lives of others through life's challenges, transitions, and everyday struggles.
With over 10 years of experience serving clients in various settings, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of how to support my clients through many of life's challenges. I hold a Master’s degree in Rehab Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Maryville University here in St Louis.

My journey has allowed me to support students in school settings, helping them navigate the school system, providing IEP support, and assisting with transitions into college or the workforce. My experience in the medical field further enriched my knowledge of both physical and mental health and gives me a unique perspective into understanding my clients unique experiences.

Working as a Registered Behavioral Technician with the Department of Mental Health in Missouri, I supported families in need by helping individuals access appropriate services, develop support systems, and create effective de-escalation strategies to stay active in the community. Since then, I have continued to grow in the mental health space, becoming trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I am committed to continuous self-improvement to provide the highest quality of care to my clients. I pride myself on being organized, creative, and professional, while also bringing a sense of humor to my practice. I aim to create a comfortable environment where you feel safe to explore your challenges as well as your strengths. During our time together my goal is to help support you with identifying new perspectives, and avenues to your success. By doing this you will have the tools you need to be able to navigate life hurdles more independently!

As a busy mom to my amazing 2-year-old, and a neurodivergent girlie myself I have had my fair share of challenges that have lead me here. Through these experiences I have gained knowledge, resources, and understanding when it comes to supporting my clients with reaching their goals.
